Acupuncture - a Face-Lift Alternative

When Diane wanted to improve her skin, but not by invasive or radical means, the 60-year-old woman sought facial rejuvenation acupuncture, which focuses on erasing some of the fine lines and tightening up the face without surgery. Diane said she wanted to specifically treat her neck, eyes and lines around her mouth.

There is now a non surgical procedure that helps rejuvenate appearances. An acupuncturist put dozens of tiny stainless steel needles into Diane's skin from head to toe. "It works by stimulating the body to produce collagen in the skin, in the fine lines and wrinkles and helps the skin to plump up and stay in placeā€, says the acupuncturist. Diane then relaxed for 20 minutes before the needles came out. Diane underwent a total of 10 treatments, coming in twice a week for a total of $1,200.

Diane looks a little smoother, refreshed and younger and she says that her skin feels tighter. And among the many benefits, acupuncture also helps reduce stress.
